Took a boat trip through Hells Canyon on the Snake River. Supposedly the big aluminum Bentz jet boat had 3 Ford Raptor V8s- can’t confirm, but it was not underpowered. Cool local boat company if you’re into that sort of thing; they specialize in commercial white-water River boats :

There’s a landing strip in there, and at least one insane pilot.
One bald eagle, screaming “ Happy Birthday America!”

That is too cool! Looks like an amazing trip. Who was the tur operator? I’ve got some vacation coming up, might copy your idea.

Snake River Adventures based in Lewiston. They also do fishing and other guided tours, but we just did the day trip. The half day was perfect- left around 10, saw some wildlife, learned some geology and history, followed by a box lunch at a nature conservancy, followed by more sight-seeing. The run back down stream was a little more exciting, with a few splashes and thrills. It was perfect for families with kids or people who can’t really do the typical rafting adventure. We were back at Hells Gate marina by 4:00, so a nice day that left us with enough energy to swim at the hotel. Some day I’d like to go back and do a multi-day rafting tour, it’s an amazing place.
